Connections

Ways to connect others to your work

As a PMT you have a unique circle of influence. It is our hope that you desire to share your PMT experience with others within that circle. We recognize that each person is unique and some ways of sharing will be more comfortable than others. The following is a list of ways past PMT have found to let their connections know about the work God is doing through their ministry director.

    1. Speaking at your church (maybe a Powerpoint slideshow upon return from a trip). We have templates we can send if you are interested. We also have a Luke Society promotional video to use if you are interested—please contact us)

    2. Speak in a Sunday School for adults or for children

    3. Lead a “Moment for Missions” after a service

    4. Asking the church to take an offering

    5. Speak individually with people after the service. Taking copies of the Luke Society News, the GAP Prayer letter and other brochures can be helpful for this time.

    1. Speak at a school chapel

    2. Spanish or French classes often like to learn about culture and see pictures

    3. Elementary school classrooms are a great way to touch the younger generation

    4. Bible classes — God is working around the world — how exciting to let students know about it!

    1. Social Media — posting pictures on Facebook or Instagram of recent trips or writing a short snippet of recent events helps inform others (be careful with sensitive material in certain locations). Also, encourage people to sign up for the Luke Society Facebook or Instagram page.

    2. GAP newsletters —Introduce people to the monthly GAP prayer newsletter which can be signed up for by emailing or calling the Luke Society office.

    3. Host a dinner party —Past PMTs have found it beneficial to have friends over for dinner with the purpose of sharing more about their ministry director’s work.

    4. Snail Mail—Some PMTs have found it helpful to communicate with family and friends via USPS. It can be effective to send updates or annual newsletters highlighting ministry activity.
