Program overview
-
Partnership Ministry Teams (PMT) are an extension of the Luke Society staff and are an important interface between the Luke Society central office and the indigenous ministry. Though volunteers, once formed and in place, PMTs have a primary relationship with ministry directors and receive correspondence, financial reports, progress reports and prayer requests directly from the ministry.
For the benefit of the ministry, it is important that both the PMTs and the central office keep each other fully informed of information and developments from the ministry.
A Partnership Ministry Team is a team formed to work with a Luke Society ministry director as a voluntary partner, providing medical and managerial advice, prayer support and resources. The team performs many functions normally allocated to paid staff members and therefore, multiplies the effectiveness of the staff. This approach also provides a benefit to the churches represented by team members and to the members themselves. The PMT is a link between Christians around the world and Christians in the USA.
Across that link needs are met in both directions. Those who have worked in the mission field either for long or short term are always impressed by the zeal and fervor of the commitment of the developing world Christians. PMT’s return with some of this enthusiasm and renewed faith in God’s wonderworking power and spread it within their church. The developing world Christian workers benefit from our experience and expertise and also can use resources to act as a catalyst for ministry growth. Through a two-way exchange, which can only come from direct involvement, we grow together as the global Christian church.
Five commitments of a PMT

PMT tools and training
A successful PMT begins with attainting the proper tools and techniques to encourage and empower your ministry director. Below you will find helpful tips to guide your communication and support with your ministry director.
Reading financial reports
Not all PMTs are experts when it comes to money and finances. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be. But knowing a few basics about your ministry’s financial reporting will help you gain a better understanding of your ministry, what types of financial decisions they are making and what is the financial health of the ministry. In this video, Luke Society CFO Kristin Breen walks you through a few highlights for you to note when reading through your ministry’s financial report.
