Communication
Forming a communication bridge
PMTs work to improve the communication between the director and the office. Each PMT is unique in how they communicate. Some use WhatsApp regularly to communicate with their ministry director. Others use Zoom or Facetime more frequently to pray together.

Concerns, prayer requests or important topics. PMTs act as extension of the Luke Society staff. When issues arise on visits or in conversation with the ministry director, PMT are encouraged to keep the office staff in the loop. We desire to work together to tackle issues and pray for common goals to be achieved. It works well to CC each other in when replying to monthly reports and also to share trip summaries with each other.
Travel Plans — It is important for PMT to let the office staff know of planned trips. This helps us with planning visits to the ministries, allows prayer to happen and also opens communication regarding the visit.
Budget feedback — Ministry directors submit an annual budget to the Luke Society (usually in mid-November). The PMT will also receive this budget and is encouraged to give input to the staff if they have any. The LS staff assesses the needs and looks at the total Luke Society budget. The staff will then approve a certain amount of support towards the ministry director’s budget which is typically transferred quarterly to the ministry.

Goals to aim for:
Monthly e-mail, usually responding to the ministry director’s reports (remember to copy in the Luke Society staff and Regional Coordinator).
Bi-annual video conference: This can be a time to stay informed on ministry work and listen to personal and ministry concerns. A great chance to pray together.
Site visit every 18 months: The Luke Society staff will work to accompany on the first few visits. This is the best way to get to know the ministry and the ministry director.
