The Partnership Ministry Team program connects Christian health and business professionals from the United States with international ministry directors in a special relationship-building partnership.
Q: What is a Partnership Ministry Team?
A: A volunteer group of Christian health and business professionals committed to assisting a specific Luke Society ministry through prayer, advisory services and financial support. PMTs offer encouragement and guidance to Christian visionaries as they establish and develop their ministries.
Q: Why are PMTs valuable?
A: Ministry directors have great passion, vision and medical knowledge but don’t always have background in organizational structure and administration. PMTs lend their experience, encouragement, and wisdom to visionaries, enabling the growth and development of a ministry.
Q: How do ministry directors and PMTs communicate?
A: PMTs generally make annual visits to an assigned ministry location, often accompanied by a Luke Society staff member and/or a regional coordinator to assist with language and cultural barriers. In addition to monthly reports from Ministry Directors, PMTs are encouraged to communicate regularly with directors via e-mail, social media, Internet video chats or other methods.
Q: Who are members of a PMT?
A: A PMT is usually comprised of business and health professionals with a passion for ministry. A team is best made up of one to three couples. PMTs must be committed to the Luke Society philosophy and have the necessary skills and experience to serve. A team can have additional supporting members and prayer partners from their communities, churches and families.
Q: What is the next step?
A: If you have prayerfully considered forming a PMT and have a passion for serving the Lord, individuals should contact the Luke Society to determine if there is a potential fit. You may contact the Luke Society at: office@lukesociety.org or call (605) 373-9686.
The Luke Society has more than 1,400 individuals who have taken on a special commitment to pray for our international ministries. The act is simple but the impact is profound. We invite you to join.
One of the most active ways you can assist the Luke Society ministry is by participating in our Global Allies in Prayer team.
Formed in 1997, GAP has played an important role in our efforts to bring specific concerns, petitions and thanksgivings to the throne of the Lord in prayer.
Many of our directors and ministries face significant dangers, risks and persecutions while using the backdrop of physical health to minister to individual’s spiritual health.
The Luke Society compiles prayer notes from our ministries and their directors and distributes them through mail and e-mail to more than 1,400 GAP members for prayer.
If you are willing to become a prayer warrior on our behalf, contact Kasondra Kiel at kasondra@lukesociety.org or 1-605-373-9686.
Several times during the year the Luke Society mails out fundraising letters for an expressed capital need at one of our international ministries. Area volunteers are used to stuff envelops and help save on costs.
The Luke Society does not send out medical brigades or work project teams, but volunteers are occasionally needed in the Sioux Falls, S.D., office.
An important part of our ministry team are the men and women who generously donate their time to assist us during high-volume mailing campaigns. Mailings are a vital piece of the Luke Society ministry. They help us convey news, financial needs and prayer notices to our supporters.
Volunteers are utilized five times per year to package letters and envelopes for the mail. Besides providing an important service, the mailings bring together volunteers and staff for a time of fellowship and camaraderie.
If you live in the Sioux Falls region and are interested in serving as a volunteer, contact Kasondra Kiel at kasondra@lukesociety.org or 1-605-373-9686.
Make a donation.
The Luke Society depends on the generosity of donors to bring physical and spiritual wellness to every part of the world. God has blessed us with many faithful individuals, churches and businesses who have supported our ministry for more than 50 years.
Nearly 90 percent of every dollar donated to the Luke Society goes directly to ministry needs. Donors may choose to give to a specific ministry or to the Luke Society general fund which provides for the operating budgets of all of our international ministries.
The Luke Society welcomes financial contributions in the form of checks, cash, money orders, credit cards, CDs and stock certificates. Contributions may be made directly to the Luke Society or by giving online through the secured third-party organization connected to this website. For planned giving or estate planning services you may contact the Barnabas Foundation.

Acts 2 Partners
Acts 2 Partners are a special group of ministry supporters who have made the decision to name the Luke Society in their will or future estate gifts. These gifts are very special to us. Among other things, they mean the individuals are entrusting part of their final legacy to impact the Kingdom of Heaven.
The namesake of this group comes from the Scriptural text which details the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the formation of the early church. Among the activities of the early church were: healing the sick in Jesus’ name; offering assistance to the poor and needy; and gathering for prayer. All three of these are vitally important aspects of the Luke Society.
Our only request from Acts 2 Partners that they pray we would use the resources wisely and in the most effective and impactful ways. The Acts 2 Partner group is simply our way to reach out and say thank you for choosing to bless the Luke Society in this way.
It’s possible you’ve already have made the decision to include the Luke Society in your will or estate. That’s wonderful! If so, we’d love to have you tell us, so we can add you to the list if you have not already informed us. You can do so by e-mailing: office@lukesociety.org or calling 605-373-9686.
If you need any help or advice about how you can be a part of the future of the Luke Society through a legacy gift, please let us know.
