New vehicle needed in Guatemala

Dr. Axel Suquen's vehicle has been used to transport many people, goods and services over the years, but now needs replacement.

You know what it’s like to have that orange check engine light come on in your vehicle. The words “inconvenience” and “expense” come to mind.

This has been happening all-too frequently to Dr. Axel Suquen as he travels to bring service to 12 remote villages near Patzún, Guatemala.

Considering the cost and hassle, it would be easier for Axel to keep his focus on his busy medical practice in Patzún. However, for several decades, Axel has sacrificed time and clinic funds to meet the needs of surrounding communities.

Reliable transportation is needed as he delivers medication to health promoters he has trained. He teaches people in these remote areas about their political rights and works with leaders to help them act justly. His purified water program helps prevent disease and parasites. His work with pastors helps to advance the Gospel. Lives are being touched and changed through Axel’s work.

The 23-year-old vehicle the ministry uses to access these difficult-to-reach places is reaching the end of its life. High repair costs and the lost time dealing with repairs is getting in the way of impactful evangelism work.

We are requesting support for a new ministry vehicle for Axel. The goal is to raise at least $25,000 for this project which will help his ministry work and provide easier collaboration with surrounding communities. Your support will make it possible for Axel and his team to continue bringing Gospel-centered change to the people of Guatemala.
