By Dr. Greg Kuiper

As heavy rain fell outside, Dr. Johny Belarme noticed that water was again finding its way into his rented clinic, leaking through ceilings and walls, causing the concrete to crumble. For three years he fought a losing battle to keep these surfaces painted and looking clean.

He recalled choosing this building as an ideal location for ministering to the people of Rafey, a poor suburb of Haitian immigrants living in the Dominican Republic. His ministry quickly grew, and now the Clinic of the Good Shepherd was too small for the hundreds of patients coming through the doors each month.

God provided a timely solution earlier this year. Just one block away, a solidly constructed, non-leaking facility became available for the same rental cost. With permission, he made improvements, creating ideal patient flow for his clinic and pharmacy, as well as adequate space for community health and evangelism training.

Belarme praises God for the blessing of this facility and wrote,
“Even in difficult times and moments, the office continues to be a light that illuminates Rafey and the feet of those who walk without direction.”

Sharing the Light of the world with those walking in darkness is Belarme’s calling and passion. He functions as a highly competent physician as well as an ordained and gifted co-pastor of his church where he preaches three times a month.

Remarkably, Belarme now has the opportunity to own this building, solidifying his ministry. We request your help in providing the $30,000 needed to make this purchase. We thank each of you for your faithful partnership.
