Aiding the Gospel’s advance

The Joshua Project tracks the spread of the Gospel across the world, and shows a growing global church

I recently ran across a 2008 map showing the “Progress of the Gospel by People Group,” published by the Joshua Project.

When this 2008 map is held up next to the same map from 2021, it is amazing to see how the Gospel has spread. A portion of these maps are in the picture above. It is exciting that over the past 13 years there are many areas of the world which have clearly moved from “Formative Church” to “Established Church.”

Another observation is how much work is left to do as many places in the world remain “Unreached.”

These map comparisons makes me think of the faithful work of the Luke Society ministry directors. Through their efforts and the Holy Spirit’s moving, they are helping turn the formative regions into established regions. Many of the ministry directors are also on the front lines, working in the unreached regions, trying to gain a foothold for the Gospel message.

Please pray for the Luke Society ministry directors in their work to spread the Gospel through health care. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of the people they come in contact with each day. Pray for the ministry directors to have strength to continue ministering in challenging circumstances and environments.

It is exciting to think what the map will look like 13 years from now. Thank you for being a part of this thrilling growth and progress through prayer.
