Monrovia, Liberia
New Community Health Center
Denise Maxwell has a heart for the impoverished area of north Monrovia, and her busy clinic is evidence of the kind of care she’s committed to offering.
There are other clinic options in the community, but patients come here because there’s something different about the New Community Clinic. Besides the outstanding care and comfort provided by more than 30 employees, it’s the only clinic around where patients hear the Word of God.
"I enjoy the way Luke Society is spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ all over the world through Christian medical staff that are rendering health services by saving lives physically, medically and spiritual, which is the holistic ministry," she said. "The Luke Society family also prays for peace, healing and prosperity for conflict zones and many other problems.
Denise began her ministry in 2007. The clinic provides consultations, laboratory testing, maternity services, immunizations and has a small area for in-patient care. The New Community Clinic sees more than 800 patients per month.
The ministry also does outreach work with the local schools and has daily devotions in the waiting room with patients.
