Segou, Mali

Mission Saint Luc

Most of the villages around Segou, Mali, have no lights, no electricity and no running water. Even more concerning is that they lack the Light of Jesus Christ. Dr. Bourama Sidibe’s efforts to witness about his Lord and Savior have paid off in villages that used to be 100-percent Muslim.

Sidibe joined the Luke Society in 2015. His ministry focuses on community health education, health consultations and church planting. He has an extensive background as a church planter in the region, and has helped to bring life to the Christian church, a minority population.

Several years ago he opened a new full-service medical clinic the village of Banankoro, including general consultations, maternity, pre-and post-natal check-ups, laboratory, pharmacy, and many other important services.

Despite being a Christian, Sidibe is welcomed by the Muslim villages who recognize his skills as an asset to their communities. He has also been active in beginning many Discovery Bible Study groups to help nonbelievers learn more about Christianity. Many have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and been baptized because of his active work on behalf of he Gospel.
