Luke Society Ghana

The Luke Society Ghana is one of the oldest and most well-established ministries within the Luke Society family. The partnership dates back to 1988 and the ministry has become a medical model for all of Ghana.

Back then the facility was a three-room hut. Today, it’s a 30-plus acre compound on which sophisticated medical procedures are taking place. The ministry has built a strong reputation for hernia repairs, but also excels in primary care, obstetrics, general surgery and pharmaceutical needs. A pediatric ward is under development. The ministry also has an eye care center about six hours south in Accra.

Dr. Boateng is the director of the ministry and also serves as the Luke Society’s regional coordinator in Africa. He is well known throughout the continent.

The ministry has helped plant dozens of churches in the region and has developed a successful microfinance loan program which has evolved into a regional banking system.
