Drug and alcohol abuse is a serious problem in many parts of eastern Europe, including Rivne, Ukraine, where the Luke Society has partnered with The Right Way ministry since 2007.
The Right Way reaches out to individuals suffering from addictions. The ministry extends a hand of encouragement to those shunned by society at the Marty Doot Christian Rehabilitation Center.
Dr. Oleg Kolbach and the Rev. Vitaly Korsunsky serve as co-directors of the ministry. Kolbach address the physical dimensions of addiction, while Korsunsky ministers to the personal and spiritual needs of their clients. The rehab center can serve up to 45 individuals at a time.
Joined by a small staff, Kolbach and Korsunsky help recovering addicts steer back on the right path by building plans to help them recover and rebuild their lives. More importantly, they minister to clients to help them come into a better relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Right Way is undergoing a major construction project to build a detoxification center adjacent to the rehab building. The detox center will serve patients in the immediate steps of physical withdrawal from chemical dependency.
