What God asks of us

By Axel Suquen

At the end of the year 2016, I was very happy. We finished the goals that we had set, and we also had goals for the new year. Our partners had promised to support us unconditionally.

However, God's plan was different.

We started the year without the same financial resources we had become accustomed to, and we didn’t have much to do about it.

I had to stand still and pray before God, our Father, to hear His voice and find peace. With my regular busyness, it would not have been possible to hear His voice and learn to trust him fully.

Little by little, the financial problems for the clinic, churches and communities have been solved.

In Romans 8:28, Paul says that those who love God, even in adversity, will be prosperous and we will be victorious in Christ. Once again, I can assure you that this promise is still in force today as it was then.

One thing I learned is that God’s plan is all about your clinic, your projects, your church. I'm just a servant of it.

I have been given peace in the midst of many difficult situations in which Guatemala and our ministry are living. I praise God for the Luke Society because it has been a faithful partner with  Asociación VIDA for these 19 years of service to the Lord together.
