Spring Day of Prayer and Fasting

By Deb Den Herder

In the Bible, fasting and prayer are often linked together. The purpose of fasting is to take our eyes off the things of this world and to focus completely on God.

The Luke Society holds a Day of Prayer and Fasting two times a year. This day is set aside for staff, prayer warriors, volunteers and the ministries around the world to lift our prayers as one before our Lord.

The 2017 spring event will be May 17.

Each ministry director shares their praises and supplications which are composed into a prayer sheet. It is a blessing to know that the entire Luke Society community — as one body — is raising these prayers to our Lord.

We would like to invite you to share this special day with us and join us as we pray and fast for our ministries.

If you would like to get a copy of the prayer sheet, please send an e-mail request to me at deb@lukesociety.org. The prayer sheets are available in English, French and Spanish.

The prayers of God’s people are powerful!

“We fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.” — Ezra 8:23
