Q&A with the director

Q: What are the important components to your ministry?
A: First, we work with women in the rural area. Second, we accompany children in three marginal urban communities in Quininde. Another important component is that we work with some public schools in a school health program.

Q: What factors led you into a career in ministry work?
A: Seeing the need that people had to know the Gospel, especially in vulnerable groups.

Q: Describe some parts of the culture in the region where you operate your ministry?
We operate in Quininde, located in northwest Ecuador. The climate is hot and humid, with a lot of vegetation. The economy is based mainly on agriculture. The majority of the population is mixed and Afro-Ecuadorian, although there are also indigenous populations. In Quinindé, most people are Catholics with a strong influence of idolatry on the Virgin Mary.

Q: How are you able to witness about Christ in your ministry?
A: By
sharing in each circumstance the Good News of the Gospel, and showing love and compassion in to families in the areas of physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in your position?
Participating in the empowerment of new local leaders who can continue and collaborate in the different ministerial areas.

Q: What is your vision for the future of your ministry?
A: Currently, the front on which we are working is opening a clinic that focuses on the prevention and education of health, with an emphasis on spiritual care.
