REGIONAL—Ministry anniversaries are cause for celebration. Within the Luke Society, 2019 prompts much rejoicing as the ministry in Jalapa, Mexico, celebrates its 20th anniversary, Transcarpathia, Ukraine, marks 25 years, Kasei, Ghana, is at 30 years, and it’s 35 years for Gracias, Honduras.

These milestones point to hard-working ministry directors who navigate shifting government regulations, political turmoil, staff changes, and oftentimes, religious persecution.

They help us remember the diligent ministry staff who labor each day to see patients and spread the Gospel message. Most of all, they help us reflect upon God’s goodness and faithfulness throughout the years.

God’s grace is reflected in each anniversary as it draws our minds to the thousands of people who have received medical care, health education and heard the message of salvation. We rejoice together over the longevity of these ministries.

To add to the reason for rejoicing, consider that only about one in every three new businesses even makes it to the 10-year mark (Forbes.com, Oct 25, 2018).

Pray that after 10, 20, or 30 years, each ministry would continue to be faithful to the calling of God to reach hurting people and share the Gospel with the lost.
