The Luke Society packed up and headed west for a special weekend, Feb. 24-25, in Visalia, Calif.

About 50 Luke Society donors, board members, partnership ministry team members and staff participated in the Luke Society PMT Conference and Donor Appreciation event at the Wyndham Hotel.

The Luke Society holds a PMT Conference every three years. The 2014 conference was held in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The theme for this year’s event was “Perseverance over Persecution.”

Directors from three Luke Society ministries presented their testimonies, updates on their ministries and described how Christians are subjected to persecution in their regions. The special guests included: Dr. Ousmane Soh of Dahra, Senegal; Dr. Pal Oroszi of Munkac, Ukraine; and Rev. Ben and Dr. Susie Cayaon of Quezon, Philippines.

The weekend began with the PMT Conference on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Six active PMT couples attended, along with several other “retired” PMTs.

Donors from different areas of California joined the group for the Saturday afternoon and evening sessions capped off with a donor appreciation meal on Saturday night. Dr. Soh gave his faith testimony after the meal.

In addition to the afternoon breakout sessions where participants could hear updates and ask questions to the directors, the event included two worship sets where hearts and voices were joined in praising the Lord.
