August GAP newsletter

By Nathan Stob

This month we would like to shift prayer focus toward another important part of the Luke Society’s ministry and mission — the generous donors. The Luke Society has been 100-percent funded by donations since it was founded in 1964. This work of health care, health education and evangelism would not be possible without generous donors.

The Luke Society has always stewarded each donated dollar. One way this is done is by intentionally keeping the staff size small (currently there are six of us working in the U.S.), and utilizing volunteer Partnership Ministry Teams (PMTs) as well as local volunteer groups. This means that almost all donations are invested directly toward the growth of the Luke Society’s 44 international ministries in 33 countries.

Donations help establish health care in difficult-to-reach areas of the world. They help fund regional coordinators who provide advice and encouragement. They are used for capital projects such as clinic buildings and medical equipment. Maybe most exciting is that donations are used to spread the Gospel around the world, resulting in more than 1,600 conversions in 2019 alone.

Please join us in praying for the faithful Luke Society donors and their ongoing generosity. Even though most of the donors have not met a ministry director face to face, we praise God for the role each of them plays to bring health care and the Gospel message to so many.

Pray for both the donors and ministry directors as they give of themselves to make Christ’s love known in all corners of the earth.
