Luke Society ministry directors from Eastern Europe and Asia gathered recently in the Philippines for the Eurasia Regional Conference. At this event directors encouraged each other to Stand Firm under persecution.

Each of these directors face daily trials and difficulties, however the ministry director from Laos particularly laid out the struggles Christians are facing in this country in Southeast Asia, where the government seems to be extraordinarily suspicious of gatherings and Christian activity.

Encouraging fellow believers and spreading the Gospel message through healthcare are dangerous practices.

Recently, pastors who preach the Gospel message are not being thrown in jail, as has been the custom in the past, but are instead going missing.

It’s amazing to learn that even in the midst of this environment of growing fear and suspicion it was also reported that Christianity is actually spreading! Praise God for the faithful Christians who are taking daily risks to spread the news of Jesus.

Please pray for each ministry that faces persecution. Pray that ministry directors and their staffs are able to recognize the schemes of the evil one and stand firm under persecution.

Also pray that as fires of persecution continue to spread that each seed that falls to the ground and dies will produce many seeds (John 12:24).
