“How, then, can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard?” — Romans 10:14

The urgency of this mission depends on what we believe about the people who never have a chance to hear the word of God.

If we truly believe that people who do not have a chance to hear the good news of Jesus will spend an eternity in hell, then we have a very urgent mission and a clear goal to try to reach these people with the kingdom message.

According to the Joshua Project, an estimated 2.87 billion people in the world, or more than 40 percent, have never even heard the Gospel message. This means they have never had a chance to reject or accept the grace that Christ has to offer.

Please pray for these unreached people groups. Pray for the Luke Society ministry directors who have dedicated their lives to reach these people with the Gospel. Pray particularly for the Luke Society ministries in Benin, Chad, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mali, Myanmar, Nepal and Senegal.

Pray also for what this means for us as individuals. Is God calling us to engage on a deeper level with the people around us? Are we being called to give more to advance the cause of Christ? Maybe God is calling us to go, to live and work among an unreached people group.

Finally, let us praise God together that the final victory is sure as “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world” (Matt 24:14).
